Dr. Dennis M. Reidy : Worcester Podiatrist
Worcester – Two weeks ago, Monday, January 26, 2015, the always affable Tatnuck Square podiatric physician, Dr. Dennis M. Reidy passed away. Dr. Reidy has been a fixture in Tatnuck Square for the past 26 years. He completed his elementary school education in his native home town of Auburn, MA. With much pride, he is a graduate of St. John’s High School in Shrewsbury, MA. He obtained his undergraduate degree, a Bachelor of Arts-cum laude in English, from St. Anselm’s College in Manchester, NH. He earned his doctorate degree from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, OH. He did a residency program at the former St. Vincent /Fairlawn Hospitals in Worcester, MA. Dr. Reidy was the first podiatry consultant, at bedside, at the Fairlawn Rehabilitation Hospital, a position he held for 26 years. He was on the staff of the former St. Vincent’s Hospital, Hahnemann, Memorial and Marlboro Hospitals. For many years, he was a podiatric consultant at many Worcester nursing homes.
He is survived by his proud mother, Helen R. Reidy. His father William H. Reidy and sister Kathie Reidy-Shablin predeceased him. He leaves his brother-in-law, Attorney David V. Shablin of Auburn, MA, his aunt and uncle Mr. & Mrs. Robert Reidy of Worcester, MA, his cousins Dr. Robert Reidy and his wife Michelle of East Berne , NY, and Ron Reidy and his wife Mary of Hopkinton, MA. Dr. Reidy also leaves his close friend, Ms. Judith A. Kozak of Auburn, MA.
Per his wishes, there were no calling hours. Burial was private. Arrangements were addressed by HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., Worcester, MA.
One may recall his parting words: Enjoy your life! Hit more down the middle than out of bounds. May he rest in peace.
