Julie M. (Matias) Beckwith, 60, of Auburn, died Thursday January 1, 2015 in her home after an illness.
She leaves her soulmate and husband of 35 years, Paul Beckwith of Auburn; a sister, Lucy Matias of Westport; a brother, George Matias of Boston; mother-in-law, Louise Downie of Auburn; brother-in-law, Mark Beckwith of Somerville; sisters-in-law Nadine Beckwith of Garfield Plantation, Maine and Gail Yahwak of Gorham, Maine; also survived by nieces, Sylvia Beckwith-Brown, Amelia and Anna Yahwak and her beloved companion “Pippin”.
Julie was born and raised in New Bedford daughter of the late Alipio and Hilda (Cordeiro) Matias. She graduated from New Bedford High School and received her Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree and C.A.G.S. in Rehabilitation Counseling from Assumption College in Worcester.
Julie had spent over 14 years in the Rehabilitation Counseling field. She also ran a very successful Avon business, earning the President’s Council recognition several years ago.
Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial Mass on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at 11:00AM in North American Martyrs Church, 8 Wyoma Drive, Auburn.
