A nine-point Northbridge run in the last 1 minute and 18 seconds of Tuesday’s game erased an Auburn lead and gave the Rams a 62-58 win.

Auburn was down 14-13 at the end of the first quarter but tied it up 27-27 in the last seconds of the first half with two points by Mark Wright. In the third, the Rockets played some of their best basketball this season and scored 18 points while accumulating 3 fouls. Northbridge had 11 points and 6 fouls.

The Rockets led 45-38 at the end of the third quarter, but Northbridge narrowed the gap to 53-48 with 3:23 left. The Rockets managed only 5 more points while the Rams scored 14.

The biggest disappointment of this matchup was the Rockets giving up a decent lead while Mark Wright was playing his best game of the season. Wright was back to his stellar performance as a point guard, something we haven’t seen since December of 2013 when he broke his ankle in the Rocket Classic.

Wright led his team with 19 points, and Nate Ramos followed with 14. Dave Roy scored 9 points, and Eric Howarth put up 7. Luke Matthews had 5, Conor Scully scored 4, and Evan Christy made 1 free throw.

The boys play at home on Monday night when they face Grafton.
