The Auburn Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) welcomes Laura Hisman and Kristie Kulma as the new Co-Chairs of the Auburn SEPAC. Both have developed an exciting program for the school year with a series of presentations from December 11 to May 7. They have also developed a wonderful brochure which should be available in our schools and libraries.

Meeting Dates and Topics for the Year are:

December 11 (6-8 PM): In collaboration with the Leicester SEPAC, .tour Seven Hills new ASPIRE building and hear from 4 departments what services they offer and how they can be a resource for adults with disabilities. This is a pot luck dinner as well. Learning about ASPIRE may be of interest to those families whose young adults are turning 22 over the next two years.

January 8 (7-9 PM): Let the police and fire fighters know about your child

February 5 (7-9 PM): Meet Your Therapists

March 5 (7-9 PM): Basic Rights Workshop

April 2 (7-9 PM): Trust and Estate Planning

May 7 (7-9 PM): End of the year meeting. Discuss what YOU want to see at meetings in the next school year.

All meetings are held at 5 West Street, Auburn, MA unless otherwise noted.

A Special Education Advisory Council is a state mandated and district supported advisory group. SEPAC provides input to the School Committee pertaining to the education of students with disabilities. The Auburn SEPAC is an organization of parents, guardians, teachers and administrators who have joined together to provide information, support and partnership to promote an educational environment where children and youth with learning challenges have equal access to educational opportunities.

Anyone with a child who is on an IEP or 504 Plan is invited to attend. In addition, anyone who would like to network, help other parents, and learn about special education procedures and resources is welcome. This is a volunteer organization and there are no fees for membership or attendance.
