Francis J. Donahue, 82, of Auburn died Wednesday in UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester after a brief illness.
He is survived by his wife Carolyn (Bender) Donahue, and sons; Steven Donahue of Prince Frederick, MD Neil Donahue of Tewksbury, John Donahue of Raynham, and 7 loving grandchildren, and a brother Robert Donahue of Bellingham, and several nieces and nephews.
He was born in Dudley; he was the son of the late John and Loretta (Baker) Donahue. He was educated in Worcester Schools. Mr. Donahue was a graduate of South High School, and Worcester Jr. College.
Francis was a proud veteran of the Korean War. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy, aboard the USS Coral Sea. Mr. Donahue was employed by the City of Worcester; as Director of the Bureau of Land Use.
In his spare time Francis enjoyed wood carving. He was an avid sports fan, and devoted family man.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, December 26, 2014 from 5-7 PM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St. in Auburn. A graveside service will be held at 9 AM on Saturday December 27, 2014 in Hillside Cemetery in Auburn.
