Holy Name left no doubt yesterday who was the better team as they defeated Auburn 3-1 in the Central Division 3 semifinal. Jordyn Abasciano had Auburn’s only goal about 20 minutes in after she poked the ball past the Nap’s keeper who had come to the edge of the box. After running past, Abasciano made an easy score on the empty net. Unfortunately, this was the last bit of productive offense for the Rockets.

The Naps played an outstanding game from all angles. Their offense was strong and their defense shut down nearly every Rocket drive. As Jianna Baroni and Jordyn Abasciano become well known across Worcester County, Auburn really needs to develop a plan B. This year is history, and next year should be brighter for this young team.
