John D. Amen, the national president of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the U.S.A. recently visited Massachusetts. His itinerary included a tour of the Cape Cod Canal and visit to the Command Center, courtesy of the Army Corps of Engineers. He enjoyed a luncheon at the Auburn/Webster Lodge, home of the Massachusetts Elks State president, Mark W. Cronin. Grand Exalted Ruler Amen congratulated the Lodge members on their many successful charitable and patriotic accomplishments in the community.
GER Amen was also honored at a special banquet at the Holiday Inn in Mansfield,where he commended the Massachusetts Elks for providing more than $460,000.00 in scholarships annually. As the Elks Grand Exalted Ruler/National President, Amen is responsible for promoting the Elks’ key goals of community service, assistance for veterans and the less fortunate, and sponsorship of youth programs and scholarships. “The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks is a terrific organization”
says Amen, “and each day more than 1 million members find new ways of helping others and make positive changes in their communities.”
During his term of office, GER Amen, who is from Colorado, will meet with Government Officials and community leaders.He will travel throughout the U.S.A. and attend State Elk conventions and many individual Elks Lodges along the way.
