Game Results from September 29th
The Rockets claimed their eighth win yesterday and are a step closer to qualifying for Districts. Dave Roy led his team with a 4-over 40 as Auburn beat Oxford 168-181. The Rockets are now 8-4.
Auburn shut out Northbridge, 6-0, yesterday afternoon. Manager Kellie Guittarr provided the following: The key to Auburn’s success was not only the Rockets’ speedy and well-timed stick skills, but also their ability to communicate on the field. Sisters Shannon and Kileigh Hynes could be seen and heard finding ways to move the ball effectively into the circle and with the utmost determination to score a goal.
Starting the team off three minutes in, Kileigh Hynes scored an unassisted goal. Jordan Lavallee followed with an assist from Jackie Clark. Casey Gurlitz scored Auburn’s third, and Jess Clifford hit the net 31 seconds later with Clark assisting. In the second, Kileigh Hynes scored her second goal with an assist from Carly Zona. The final goal was scored with five minutes remaining by Lavallee.
Abby Lucas had 5 saves for Auburn, and they will play next on Wednesday at David Prouty.
The Rockets beat Northbridge 3-1 on the Rams’ home grass. Jianna Baroni shot two goals and Jordyn Abasciano scored once to make Auburn 7-1-1 on the season. The girls play home on Wednesday against David Prouty, 7:00PM
