Game Results for September 26th & 27th
Boys Cross Country:
The boys incurred their first loss of the season, 19-43, against the Advanced Math and Science Academy, but they were victorious against St. Peter-Marian, 22-36. In the overall times, Tom Gannon was second at 17:01 on the 3-mile course. Matt Healy ran ninth, 18:27, and Colin Gallaway was 14th with a time of 19:22. The Rockets are now 7-1.
Girls Cross Country:
The girls also fell to Advanced Math and Science Academy, 15-50. And, although lacking their two fastest harriers, the Rockets beat St. Peter-Marian, 26-33. Riley Simmons had the best Auburn time at 25:32. She was followed by Jenn Tarini, Elizabeth Simonian, Victoria Simonian, Stephanie Bolduc, and Monika Mularski. The girls are 5-4.
On Saturday evening, the boys were away at Quaboag where they tied the Cougars, 1-1. The Rockets are 3-6-1.
The Rockets suffered their first loss of the season on Friday evening when Northbridge defeated them 42-14. The Rams came with a powerful offense and a solid defense that repeatedly shut down Auburn’s drives down the field. Adam Weldon and Mark Wright each scored a touchdown for Auburn, and Wright ran in a 2-point conversion as well.
