The Greater Auburn Community Chorus and weather just don’t get along. Regardless, our local singers presented a nice concert last night at the Pappas Recreation Complex. The pavilion provided decent protection for the chorus, but the audience was huddled under umbrellas by the end. The concert had an ironic water theme and was a repeat of GACC’s spring concert. Maybe a sunshine theme would have worked better?
Two of GACC’s outdoor concerts were cancelled last summer, and their holiday concert fell on the same weekend as a major snowstorm. Director Charles Pietrello seemed to take it all in stride last night, and the small, but attentive, audience appreciated their efforts.
Drs. Arthur and Martha Pappas were among those in attendance and enjoyed the show. They even had a nice picnic with friends. Next week’s concert will be the classic rock band Outriggers. If it rains on Thursday, they will play on Tuesday, June 24th.
