wonka jr 300x200Auburn Community Players has announced it summer youth theater programs for summer 2014.

Students who will be entering grades 4-8 in the fall can register for Roald Dahl’s Willie Wonka, JrStudents entering grades 8-12 can participate in Schoolhouse Rock Live!  Eighth graders can apply to participate in one or both workshops. Eighth graders who register for both productions can deduct $50 from their total registration fees.  A sibling discount is available for both workshops. Please see the Information Letter for details. Auburn Community Players (ACP) was founded in 2011 by Christine Taylor, and is in residence at Pakachoag Church.  The church provides rehearsal and performance space in it Great Hall.  Last summer, about 35 students took part in one workshop, performing Alice in Wonderland to two sold out shows.  The high school age actors performed You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown in the first theater production ever held at the Riley-Pappas Pavilion at the Arthur and Martha Pappas Recreation Complex.

ACP has also performed as part of the Concert in the Park Summer Concert Series at Pappas Recreation Complex.  Previously, ACP presented A Christmas Carol and The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. 

The Willy Wonka workshop will run 9am to 2pm, Monday through Friday from July 7-July 18.  Performances will be held on July 18 and 19, at times TBD.  Rehearsals and performances are at Pakachoag Church.

Schoolhouse Rock rehearsals will be July 6 to July 30 on Sunday through Wednesday, from 6pm to 10pm at Pakachoag Church. Performances will be held July 31 and August 1, with a rain date of August 5, at the Riley-Pappas Pavilion at Pappas Recreation Complex.

Registrations are now being accepted for students for both youth workshops. The deadline for registrations is June 6, 2014. A completed registration form and payment in full must be received by this date to guarantee acceptance. Children do not need to be Auburn residents to participate in the Auburn Community Players summer theater workshops.
