The Auburn Junior Woman’s Club will hold its annual Memorial Day Duck Race on, well, Memorial Day.  That would be this coming Monday, May 26.

This year’s Duck Race will be from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm at Auburn Public Library on Southbridge St. The Duck Race begins when the AFRD ladder truck arrives back at the Fire Headquarters following Memorial Day ceremonies at the cemetery.

You can buy your ducks during the parade in front of the Fire Station, or before the race at the Library. Ducks can also be purchased before memorial day at Coco’s Tropical Ice, 1 Swanson Rd.,  during their regular store hours Saturday, 12pm-7pm and Sunday, 12pm to 6pm.  To sweeten the deal, Coco’s is offering free ice for the whole summer if you buy your duck at Coco’s, and your duck wins the race.

The Auburn Junior Woman’s Club proudly sponsors the Annual Duck Race every year on Memorial Day. Following the parade, rubber ducks are dropped from the top of the Auburn Fire ladder truck and sent racing down Mirror Pond.  Patrons adopt the ducks, and the first duck to cross the finish line wins $500! Along with the race itself, there are one of a kind children’s games, face painting, and raffles. Ducks can also be adopted (purchased) from any member of the club.

$5 ADOPTS A SOLO DUCK
$25 ADOPTS A SIX QUACK (6 DUCKS)
$50 ADOPTS A FLOCK (13 DUCKS)

You do not need to be present to win. For further information email auburnjuniors@gmail.com.
