State Senator Michael O. Moore and Auburn Selectwoman Doreen Goodrich served a complimentary corned beef dinner to the seniors of Auburn on Wednesday, February 26th. The event was held at the North American Martyrs Church. Over 100 Auburn seniors attended the dinner.
“I’d like to thank the North American Martyrs Church for the use of their space and of course I couldn’t do this event without the help of so many volunteers,” said Senator Moore. “The winter months can be very challenging to seniors, as they sometimes feel isolated in their homes with the severe weather keeping them indoors. Having this dinner allows for seniors to gather together, and enjoy a meal and conversation.”
Senator Moore continued, “Every year I look forward to this event as it’s a great opportunity to talk to residents about their concerns and ideas to better Massachusetts. It was great to catch up with old friends and to make new ones. The event was well attended and a good time was had by all.”
Residents enjoyed a traditional meal of corned beef, cabbage, carrots, potatoes and Irish bread while listening to festive Irish music.
