The second annual Auburn Tree Lighting Ceremony is this Friday, December 6 at 6:00 pm next to the Auburn Fire Rescue Department Headquarters.

Last year, several hundred people ventured out on a very cold evening to celebrate the first ever tree lighting.  “Last year’s Tree Lighting was a great success”, said Town Manager Julie Jacobson.  “We think this year will be even better.”

This year, there will again be music, food and an appearance by Santa Claus.  A sing-a-long and caroling will be provided by the Auburn High School Band and the Auburn Community Players.  The Bay Path Regional Vocational Technical High School Culinary Department will be serving cookies, coffee and hot cocoa.  There will also be a special appearance by Santa Claus.  Also, Stearns Electric donated the labor to wire the lights up on the tree.

Recreation and Culture Director Kristen Pappas said “I’d like to see this become a great annual tradition that people look forward to.”

The event is free, and everyone is encourage to attend.
