150x197-Koleshis,_Stephen_croppedStephen T. Koleshis, Sr., 91, of Auburn died Sunday, November 10, 2013 in his home surrounded by his loving family.

Stephen was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Exilda M. Koleshis in 2000. He leaves his loving children, Mary Heede and her husband, Robert of Bourne, , Stephen Koleshis Jr. and his wife, Cheryl of Sterling, Susan Boland and her husband, Robert of Shrewsbury, David Koleshis and his wife, Elaine of Uxbridge, Richard Koleshis and his wife, Priscilla of Bourne, Carol Howard and her husband, Richard of Oxford and Robin Rivera and her husband, Jose of Oxford; eight grandchildren, Pamela Truenow, “The Angel who cared for Stephen”, Melissa Koleshis, Michael Koleshis, Sean Boland, Nicole Koleshis, Todd Boland, Johanna Lemus and Kelly Heede; three great grandchildren, Jane, Audrey and Jacob; also survived by a brother, Robert Koleshis of Worcester. He was predeceased by two sisters, Anne Merrill and Sophia Mills and three brothers, Charles, Anthony and Lawrence Koleshis.

He was born in Laconia, NH, raised in Worcester, son of the late Walter and Amelia (Pangonis) Koleshis.

Stephen had worked as a Forge Press Operator for 42 years at Wyman Gordon in Worcester before he retired in 1984. He also worked part-time as a bartender at the Auburn Lodge of Elks and at Décor Manufacturing in Worcester.

He was an avid golfer and enjoyed woodworking. One of his favorite things to do was fishing on the banks of the Cape Cod Canal. He was a member of the North American Martyrs Church; the Auburn Lodge of Elks and a senior member of the Worcester Surf Casting Club.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Koleshis family on Saturday, November 16, 2013 from 9:30-10:30 AM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn. His funeral will follow and be celebrated at 11 AM in North American Martyrs Church, 8 Wyoma Drive, Auburn. Burial will follow in in Hillside Cemetery, Auburn. Memorial donations can made to a charity of one’s choice.
