150x262-2344750AUBURN-Carol Wamback Nicholas of Auburn, died Monday November 18, 2013, in the Ichabod Washburn House in Worcester after a brief illness. She was 74.

Carol leaves her beloved husband of 42 years, John Nicholas; daughters, Kristen Nicholas and Courtney Maleakas and her husband, Chuck; cousins and nephews; and her devoted cat, Katia.
Carol was born in Worcester. She was the daughter of the late Stephen Daniel Theodore and Marion Rachel Eliza (Sperry) Wamback. She was educated in Worcester schools and graduated from Commerce High School.

Carol worked for Imperial Distributors, and previously, the former Paul Revere Insurance Co. where she was the first woman in the city of Worcester to use a computer.
Carol was a funny lady who wrote humorous poems for many friends and family members. She loved to bake, and her famous Christmas cookies will be tough to replicate, though her daughters will certainly try. An avid shopper, she loved a good bargain and never missed a sale. Mostly, it will be impossible to remember her without remembering her sweetness, her kindness, her unpretentious simplicity, and her love for her family.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home 91 Central Street, in Auburn from 10AM to 12PM Saturday November 23, 2013. A celebration of Carol’s life will be held at 12 Noon following visiting hours.
