150x190-Hanks,_J.croppedJeffrey G. Hanks, 63, died on Friday October 25, 2013 at the UMass University Campus Hospital.

He was a long time resident of Charlton. Jeff was born in Worcester, the son of the Late Gordon E Hanks and Violet V. Hanks (Bjorklund) of Gainesville, FL.  He was raised in West Boylston where he graduated from high school in 1968 and graduated from the Andover Institute of Business.

Jeff owned M&J Associates accounting firm with his wife Melodie.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Melodie (Warren) Hanks, 2 sons, Jonathan and his fiancée Katie Archambault, and Christopher of Charlton; two daughters, Heather Moore and husband Nathan and Jillian Heenan and husband Neil of Holden; his sister, Nancy Robinson and husband William of Gainesville FL., his brother Ronald and wife Connie of Auburn; 5 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Jeff was a member of Charlton Baptist Church where he sang in the choir and worship team. Jeff was happiest when he was singing. Among his music associations over 55 years were the Worcester Men of Song, many barbershop quartets, Saint Matthews Church choirs and the First Congregational Church of Auburn choirs.

He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War and was a member for the Joel H. Prouty Lodge of Masons.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit the Hanks family on Wednesday October 30 from 4-8 pm at the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St, Auburn. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 31 at 10:00 am at Charlton Baptist Church, 50 Hammond Hill Rd. Charlton. Burial with Military honors will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Auburn.
