The boys varsity team lost their first game of the season on Saturday, falling to Tantasqua 4-2. At 8 minutes in, Tre Allen scored for the Warriors. Less than 2 minutes later, Alex Strafer scored for Auburn assisted by Richie Augusto. It looked there would be a good competitive game this noon-time. Tantasqua thought otherwise, and Liam Seguin scored twice while Tyler Cave scored once to end the half 4-1.

Adam Gillies protected Auburn’s net until 30:11 in the second when he collided with a Tantasqua defender in the box. He had 5 saves on the day.

Matt Blais assumed the keeper spot and had 3 saves with no scores against him. The Rockets played hard and did score at 28:00 when Augusto again assisted Strafer for a second goal. The game got quite physical towards the end, but the referees kept things under control.

Tantasqua keeper Jess Guillette had 4 saves as his team stands at 2-3-1. The Rockets are 3-1-1.
